The purpose of the design is to create a library that functions as an anchor for the Northern Liberties Community. By serving as an iconic image the building brings the community together as well as further educates the community.

By carving the form in response to the site conditions and separating the form in response to the programmatic conditions, the manipulations not only allow the dense site noise to be addressed, but they also designate the main entrances. By splitting the form, it defines the main circulation both interior and exterior as well as allows natural light to enter the main spaces.
